Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator. This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community.

Events/charities support or coverage:
Cash For Kids is the official charity of Hallam FM and Magic AM (Registered Charity no. 1122062). Set up in the 1970’s, Cash for Kids (formally Help A Hallam Child) has raised millions of pounds to help sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in South Yorkshire. Every penny raised stays in this region to support thousands of the most needy local children. Cash for Kids provides grants for individuals, other children’s charities, community groups and the health sector.

2010 has been the most successful year for Hallam FM & Magic AM’s Cash for Kids raising £617,000 and supporting over 14,000 of the neediest local children in South Yorkshire.

Highlights include:
The Cash for Kids Appeal raised over £60,000 in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

In the summer Cash for Kids obtained over £59,000 worth of tickets and family activities for deprived local children and over £30,000 worth of panto tickets and family activities at Christmas.

The Cash for Kids Christmas Appeal delivered over £330,000 worth of gifts to over 9,000 local children who were at risk of waking up to nothing on Christmas morning.
