The Dave Campbell Show
Story Highlight
Find out more about Magic's afternoon presenter.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Generous; Muscular; Liar!
What would you be if you weren't a presenter?
Probably a truck driver..I like the idea of being on the open road, sun beating down, country and western music playing as I drive the endless road through the desert in my big rig…It’s not going to happen in England is it?
What advice would you give someone starting their career today?
Be persistant. Always be around to be at the right place at the right time and get to know people who do what you want to do!
What makes a good presenter?
Someone who really becomes part of the listener’s life and daily routine, someone who talks about the things their listeners are doing in their lives and who’s their friend without ever meeting.
If you weren't you who would you like to be?
I quite like me...But what fun could I have being any beautiful female celebrity you can think of, looking at myself in the mirror!
What is your media diet?
Usually a mixture of serious papers and trashy tabloids it gives you two perspectives on world news and makes me look more intelligent than I really am.
What makes you angry/laugh?
Rubbish drivers and I laugh endlessly at anything remotely lavatorial. Purile I know but it’s just in my make up..The trouble I’ve been in for laughing at the wrong moments at that! I really wish I didn’t find it so hilarious!
What will your epitaph be?
Here lies Dave Campbell died aged 156. Only the good die young.
What's your favourite bar/restaurant?
Anywhere that has good wine and wonderful Italian food.
Do you have any hobbies?
I’m a very keen yet rather rubbish photographer.
What's your funniest moment since working at Magic?
You really had to be there!
What was your first ever record?
One More Night by Yellow Dog. Remember it? No?...Oh c‘mon I wasn’t the only one who bought it. It got to number 8!
Who is the most famous person you have met through work?
Quite a few. Hard to say who would be the most famous..I don’t want to get sued!
What was the most embarrassing thing to ever happen to you at work?
I can’t say…It’s bad….Really bad….Oh I may tell you one day…*cringe*
What was the best company night out?
There have been many great ones..Foggy memories though.
What is the first thing you do when you get to work?
Con someone into making me a cup of coffee.
Where are you most likely to be on a sat night?
Two extremes. Either at home with my wife watching a film or in town with my mates on a messy night out.
